By using the Web Site and the services available, you are assumed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions, and any additional terms & conditions, which may include services and information provided by third parties.
The Web Site is provided for the purpose of advertising vacancies supplied by members of RAN, and inviting applications to these vacancies. The Web Site also provides a facility for you to register your personal details and CV information; RAN members are able to view CVs online, accept online applications, and retain copies, in their endeavours to source or recruit candidates. We cannot accept any responsibility for the contents of any CVs, which are received from candidates in good faith that the content is accurate and true; likewise, we cannot accept any responsibility for the accuracy or content of any vacancies advertised on the Web Site by RAN members. You may access, print and, where available, download information from the site for these purposes only and for no other personal or commercial purpose. You may not otherwise copy, display, email, fax, transmit or distribute any material from the site.
All copyright, trademarks, database rights and other intellectual property rights in the site and the material available on the site belong to RAN, its member organisations, or its third party suppliers. Use of the site does not give you any proprietary rights in such materials.
RAN has the right to refuse any job or advertisement at its discretion without having to give any reason, and may stop any agency from using the site.

Due to the nature of the Internet, and associated technologies, RAN will endeavour, but cannot guarantee, to provide continuous availability of the Web Site and its services, but accepts no responsibility for the consequences of interruptions or delays, however caused. We use our best efforts to ensure that the Web Site is available on a 24 hours per day, 7 days per week basis. At times the site may be partially or completely unavailable due to connectivity or technical faults or reasons beyond our control such as failures by third party service providers, external events, or unlawful intrusion. It is our intention to deal with these situations as rapidly as is reasonably possible, but you agree that we shall have no liability to you in the event of such unavailability.

RAN's use of personal information and CVs supplied by users of this Web Site is governed by the privacy policy. Information provided by third parties is taken in good faith.
Users of the Web Site must accept that the information they have registered is correct and that they have registered or re-registered of their own free will. By submitting their details they agree that the information given may be used for registration and purposes associated with seeking employment, and that this information may be viewed, used, retrieved, and stored by RAN members, and submitted to third parties as part of a selection process, as covered under the UK Data Protection Act.
Privacy
RAN will make every effort to comply with the obligations under the UK 1998 Data Protection Act. We understand that the information you or your agent provides on the Web Site databases is confidential and we will use our best endeavours in maintaining it.
Profile and CV information
You will be requested for a series of information for us to hold and use on the site. Your information, or selected parts of the information, will be made available to be viewed and downloaded, by way of an online search over the Internet, by our member organisations. These organisations are registered recruitment and employment agencies. Your information, or selected parts of that information, may be downloaded from the web site and used, or stored, by an individual RAN member for the purposes of sourcing and selecting candidates for, but not exclusively to, a particular post or posts. Each RAN member is expected to conform to the REC standards of professional conduct in their treatment of this information, and any personal details contained therein.
The CV facility allows you to create a CV for use in the Web Site and for access by RASN member organisations.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the information in those CVs is accurate, truthful and portrays a factual representation of your job and career history. We accept no responsibility or liability for the contents of any CV's and expect candidates, RAN members, or appropriate third parties, to carry out such verification procedures as deemed necessary.
A RAN member can be ptevented from viewing your CV if you have not consented to this within your Profile.
Ideally you should update your CV every three to six months, especially if your contact details have changed and/or you have acquired new skills, or are changing jobs or contract assignments. Once your Profile and CV is on our database, we will contact you periodically by email to remind you to update your details. You may, at any point, decide to set your Profile to active/inactive. By being set inactive, your CV is barred from being searched and will be archived until you wish to reactivate it.
If we do not have a positive response to a serial sequence of emails, we will remove your information from the database.
User names and passwords
User names and passwords are issued for the sole use of the person to whom they are assigned. We may deny access to a user account or member account if we reasonably believe that an unauthorised person is using it or that the user is breaching these Terms and Conditions. RAN accepts no liability for loss or damages caused by unauthorised usage of user names or passwords.
Rights in the database
Database rights (pursuant to the Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997) and all other applicable copyright and intellectual property rights in the candidate database belong to RAN. You acknowledge that you do not acquire any rights in the database or its content and that these terms and conditions govern your retention and use of the database and its content.
Governing law
These Terms and Conditions shall be interpreted in accordance with Scottish law and the Scottish courts shall decide all disputes.
