Our client is a successful international consultancy with a strong IT infrastructure practice within Scotland. They work with some major blue chip organisations across central belt Scotland as well having prominent clients based across the UK. They are looking to recruit a principal consultant to work out of their Edinburgh office and to be part of their client advisory services team. The responsibilities of the role will include:

- Undertaking commercial risk assessment at a technical, operational & commercial level
- Act as a Solution Owner in the technical bid process, drawing on expertise of others in order to validate and sign off overall technical solution over multiple disciplines
- Undertaking consultative engagements with customers
- Recommend technologies, including products, vendors & architecture across multiple disciplines
- Undertaking technical project coordination
- Production of documentation to support implementation work
- Conduct business benefits analysis
- Act as a mentor to Associate Consultants/Consultants/Senior Consultant on all aspects of the Consultant role, transferring skills on a technical & commercial level
- Take proactive responsibility for further developing business with new and existing clients

This is a senior level role and our client requires previous extensive experience of the following:

- Experience of conducting commercial risk assessments, at a technical, operational & commercial level
- Experience of designing detailed technical architecture (infrastructure) across multiple related disciplines
- Experience of owning technical bid process and sign-off-
- Demonstrated thorough leadership strengths through previous roles or assignments.
- Experience of developing and supporting propositions for a technology and services sales force
- Experience of analysing customer requirements, scoping project deliverables & recommending "best of breed" technologies
- Experience of conducting business benefits analysis, identifying the true ROI of implementing technical solutions
- Expert at conducting consultative engagements
- Good technical knowledge of all aspects of project lifecycle including development, deployment and management of applications and infrastructure
- Detailed understanding of key current enterprise, solution and technical architectures
- Knowledge of architecture methodologies including the Zachman framework and TOGAF
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies including RUP and PRINCE II
- Good understanding of ITIL
