Job Description
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst within the Accounting Client Access team, you will predominantly serve as the liaison contact between IT and business end-users. Working closely with the operational business teams, you will be expected to assess requests, produce detailed business requirements and review/produce specifications for any new/change to technology applications. Working closely with Technical Analysts and the development team, you will ensure detailed understanding is agreed.
You will be responsible for identifying, assessing and documenting business requirements, determining priorities, and advising business teams on options, risks, and costs. A key part of the role will be to conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside specific business units before recommending a new solution. Recommendations, including impact analysis across other lines of business will be a key activity. Presentation skills are essential as are the use of cases to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT team, and contribute a business or process perspective during design reviews. You will be expected to liaise with the IT Quality Management team to ensure that specifications can be easily translated into test plans, and ensure that the proper testing plans have been completed. Provide relevant test scenarios for the testing team. Work with test team to develop system integration test scripts and ensure the testing results correspond to the business expectations.
You will also be expected to actively manage the implementation of new functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate procedures. Working with relevant operational and training teams you will also help manage these changes into production.
A high level of client contact will form part of this role and experience of dealing with clients is essential. You will be involved in gathering business requirements from clients (both prospective and existing clients), proposing solutions and must be able to present both high level concepts and detailed plans to clients. You will work closely with the the sales team, business representatives and the clients. This role will require a high level of mobility as it is likely to involve extensive travel within the UK. (Up to 50% of your time). Some travel within EMEA may also be required.
Qualifications
Qualifications / Other Information · Relevant degree, or specialised training or equivalent work experience · Relevant business experience, i.e. Fund Accounting · Experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts, business systems development and analysis (SDLC) · Good presentation skills · Sound understanding of the company's business practices and familiarity with the company's products and services · Strong analytical skills including a proven track record in the creation of functional and technical specifications · Experience of running successful UAT processes, including the creation of relevant and comprehensive test scenarios · Knowledge of SunGard Invest I systems platform preferred Mobility - position may involve extensive travel (up to 50%)
