Job Description
Senior role within a global investment organisation within operations, managing new business pipeline and ensuring proper governance for change demands from clients, regulatory changes and in the support of strategic product direction.
The successful individual will represent operations in analysis and evaluation (technical, capacity and financial) of new business opportunities, working with clients and product counterparts through the sales process and acting as an “objective” technical and business adviser to the operational and product management peer group on the creation and viability of service solutions
Major Responsibilities
• Ensure governance of the client demand queue to ensure proper evaluation, technology specification and communication with internal stakeholders.
• Represent operations in new business initiatives, undertaking technical analysis, costing evaluation, RFP completion, and deal support and client communications as required.
• Provide independent insight to the site head and head of demand management in identifying potential capacity or technical challenges for the business
• Ensure that proper disciplines are in place to protect against over commitment and that appropriate prioritisation takes place, taking account of capacity and capability.
• Act as lead point of operations support to Product, Sales and Client Management counterparts, ensuring a positive and collaborative working relationship for the site
• Actively manage any significant new product initiatives from an operational impact perspective
• Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and industry trends in the investment funds business, and ensure the impact is understood and the business is addressing the requirements.
• Provide assistance and coverage where necessary to fellow site demand managers, particularly taking account of the demand concentration at the time
• Represent the business as required through participation in client meetings, new business presentations and industry events.
• Operational ownership of the fund costing process, including: a. Ensuring the ABC and complexity models meet the ongoing requirements of the business b. Providing oversight for the site’s ABC and Complexity data, and ensuring consistency through to the Cost to Serve model
Qualifications
Education CPA or BA/BS with accounting and finance or equivalent industry experience
Skills and experience
• Strong mutual fund accounting operations background, with awareness of NAV calculation and financial reporting processes
• Strong investment funds industry and regulatory knowledge
• Good communication, analytical and influencing skills - ability to work at all levels
• Strong project management / organisational skills - ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel
• Strong client service skills, whilst commercially minded
