Design Engineer

ASA's client leads the industry in completing, finishing and workover technologies.

Our client currently has an opening for a STAFF DESIGNER.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible the design and testing of oil and gas well completion equipment for multiple product lines i.e. Cased Hole System, Sand Control Systems, Well Bore Intervention and Well Bore Construction. Specific duties will include:
Planning and conducting research.
Designing, developing and executing engineering projects
Reviewing progress and analysing results
Technical discussions, first installs and the resolution of single product issues
Providing technical guidance to team members
Planning and assigning personnel for projects and assignments
Producing and checking all drawing types including design and 3D layouts
Assisting in project planning and reviews
Recommending designs and materials for engineering tasks.
Co-ordinating prototype Laboratory and Field tests
Creating field bulletins
Developing existing product lines
Producing theoretical analysis of product design
Select seal materials
Control the production of manufacture and illustrative drawings
Make use of V.A. concepts to reduce product cost without sacrificing technical integrity
Prepare test programs, requests and reports
Analyse test results and make recommendations
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
Understanding of basic machining operations
Skills in the use of CAD
Technical writing skills
Ability to use engineering computers, software and databases
Problem solving skills
Ability to apply mathematical calculations to support tasks
Skills in the use of Microsoft Office
Communication, presentation and organizational skills
Ability to work in a team and on own initiative
EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
· Experience of designing and testing equipment
· Experience of leading projects
· Knowledge of intellectual property requirements
