ASA Recruitment's client is seeking a Manager for their Private Client Tax Team.
The role relates to the tax advisory practice in relation to high next worth individuals, entrepreneurs, trusts and partnerships.

This role involves providing primary advice on all aspects of taxation. It requires an individual capable of developing and sustaining strong client relationships with an existing client portfolio and actively participating in developing new business relationships. The successful candidate will have strong UK tax knowledge, with experience of advising high net worth individuals on personal tax issues.
Tax return preparation is handled by a compliance team but applicants should be prepared to advise on and prepare input in relation to complex tax issues and computations, to review tax returns, details with HMRC correspondence and client queries.
Responsibilities:
Candidates will have a range of skills in the following areas:
Knowledge of income and employee tax issues, treatment of trading income, capital gains tax and inheritance tax to CTA qualified level, or equivalent:
Experience of preparing complex capital gains tax computations on shares and land, including a knowledge of CGT reliefs such as EIS deferral relief:
Skilled in Succession and IHT Planning - you must have a knowledge of the operation of this tax including detailed knowledge of reliefs available. You will have updated yourself on the recent developments in inheritance tax in relation to trusts and to have a working knowledge of the relevant legal issues:
knowledge of Trusts - Trust Accounting, income tax, capital gains tax and IHT essential, knowledge of trust law desirable;
Farm and property tax and issues - you must have a good knowledge of the relevant tax legislation and a familiarity with the various issues affecting farmers and landowners:
Partnerships - knowledge desirable of traditional professional partnership structures and issues as well as of the rules applicable to LLPs;
Knowledge of the self assessment system:
Familiarity with the rules governing domicile and residence
Share Reward - you should be familiar with the basic tax charges and occasions of charge. Knowledge of the operation of share schemes and company law in relation to share schemes is desirable.
Knowledge of the new pension system is desirable
You should be:-
Familiar with windows applications, be skilled in Excel and have a working knowledge of Word and Powerpoint.
Have excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation
Self motivated and proactive in dealing with clients
Have a proven track record in business development and be innovative in approach
Have a proven track record of developing client relationships and sustaining them
CTA/CA qualified or equivalent
The type of work you will be involved in will include delegation of work and coaching junior members of the team as well as leading teams of highly motivated people.
